Long weekend boredom buster
Over the long weekend I tested a few tools and am still trying to work a few of them out, but here is my progress so far.
TESTED AND STILL USING
If you are like me, belonging to many social networks makes for busy times. So I’ve tested www.ping.fm which updates many sites all at once. I belong to four which I’ve added to my ping account and it worked a treat. I guess I won’t be too scared to sign up for more now - as long as they are included in ping.
www.digsby.com is a desktop application keeping you up to date with your social networks and who’s online. It put my msn/yahoo/facebook chat into its widget and you just chat with everyone through it. I have auto-loaded this so everytime I open my laptop, it signs in. Also, I added a little chat widget to my personal blog www.worklifeballs.weebly.com so people can chat to me if they want.
TESTED AND PUT IN THE LATER-BASKET
Nomee.com is a desktop application that you donwload and it monitors your social networks etc, I’m pretty sure it does a lot more but for the life of me, I haven’t got too far with it… Just remember this is no reflection of the software capabilities as this looks very good…
Making the week great
My first week of my reclaimed life has been fantastic. I took the time to walk my 5 year old to school, I basked in the sun, we picked flowers, I worked in my sunny conservatory and kept my house clean and tidy and formed a homework routine for the children. Oh it was fantastic and now for school holidays… who knows how that will pan out.
Anyway, what topped my week off was such a brief encounter but the memory will be long lasting. We got a call from the school nurse to say that my 5 year old was blind in one eye! After much laughter and the nurse thinking I am the worst parent on earth, I took her to the family doctor to show that we aren’t uncaring parents. And sure enough, he covers one of her eyes and asks if she can see and she said “noooooooo”, so he asks what colour the wallpaper is and she said “yelloooooooow”.
After much more laughter and story swapping we took our treasured actress home.

ESTP - The Doers
The active and playful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities.
The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through. They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time.

I must have got lost!
I’ve had time away and even spent two whole days totally without business contact. A family bereavement always gives you a kick in the butt and this time I felt I’d walked down the same road twice. Kick me if I do it again!
I read Barbara Sher’s book “I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was” and upon closing the book I made a life changing resolution to only do what I wanted to do. Once I did that, my whole life changed. I was broke but I was on a journey to a better way of life and lived this way for some years.
So I found myself some weeks ago doing what was expected of me and doing things that I thought I should. I’ve re assessed and am now making my way back to where I was doing only what I want to do.
In a space of a couple of weeks I’ve gone from feeling flat to excited about my future again!
Isn’t life such a fantastic journey? trying some times but still a fantastic journey.
A reminder that worklife balance is about personal priorities, its not about time
Today for the 50th time I was kindly reminded that other Mums are so organised! Obviously highlighting that I’m not. When it comes to making sure that all the catering numbers were perfect for my 5 year olds birthday, I definitely did not know but I had a very good estimate. I preferred to pay for two extra’s just in case we had a few more. And luckily I did.
Several years ago for my first child everything would have been perfectly organised. Back then there was only my child and me and my work… life was incredibly easy. Now there is myself, my husband and two children, three businesses, a dog and a cat and so on.
So for worklife balance for me there is not enough time in the day for everything so some stuff just doesn’t get done or doesn’t get done as well as other stuff. Way back in my early twenties everything had to be done and it was, and it was done perfectly.. I actually wonder if I enjoyed life as much then as I do now when I prioritise things and leave those things that aren’t as a big a priority… even if it means I don’t have every single item organised perfectly for said daughters birthday.
I can only have room enough for 1 area of disciplined organisation in my life and that is my business!
Yet another blog by Debra Clark
I sat down several months ago and tried to work with wordpress and just couldn’t do it. Sometimes I must be incredibly…… dysfunctional!
After several attempts at it, I gave up and searched for something different and ended up with Weebly for my AdminCorp website.
I think its a brain thing, while I know and register how easy wordpress is, I just couldn’t get into it as such. I’m here now using it and its easy.
So after some reflection (all of approximately 5 minutes just now), I can see where my dysfunctionality may stem from… weebly is on one page and all my tools and functions are visible, whereas wordpress you click in and out of where you want to be. Maybe I need to see the big picture all the time… quite fascinating.
I think I’m going to enjoy working with this and will be able to add wordpress to my tool-kit whereas previously I had dismissed it.
My main hobby on the internet is collecting information, I add it to my tool-kit and share it as much as I can. So this has made my day…
